This website reflects the conjunction of erzebet.com and papaveria.com, once two distinct sites showcasing two distinct types of work—bone art and book art. The merging of these two forms is becoming more evident in my work and will continue to do so as time progresses. It is about experimentation and exploration. My new work will not adhere to any self-imposed artistic orthodoxies, but will (I hope) reveal and revel in the living process that is creative expression.
The unifying force behind this merger is my love of the written word and its traditional mode of dissemination—the book: storehouse of ideas, dreams and memory, as well as being a viable force for change. As both a reader and a writer, I am well aware of the power words have upon us, but I am also aware of the power of the object, especially a well-crafted object that serves to remind us of all that is good and right in the world and in ourselves.
