Other Artistic Explorations

It hasn't always been bits and bones. Oils, charcoal, gouache and pencil are also favourite tools. A love of the face, a love of colour and a love of form has guided me through several distinct periods of exploration.

"The Gift", top left, was inspired by the underlying geometric patterns contained within Islamic art. "Kamesvari", top right, is a simple Hindu design rendered in gouache on board. The two pencil sketches, left, are early works on paper.

A fascination with the face led me to draw over a hundred portraits in charcoal of famous (or infamous) persons, such as these two, lower left. John and Yoko and Ozzy are my favourites of this ridiculously large collection.
